Dr. Scontrino view the art of photography as a way to transform light and shadow in emotions, a distilling of reality into a personal vision. The most important moment is the visualization, in which the shoot is the last act. As such, he often time uses the tools of modern photography – different film stocks, filters, digital enhancement to try to capture in an image the emotions.
“I have had many photography award, magazine covers and photo exhibitions, which is always motivating and special, but I have realized something that is more important… I love to shoot. It is not a job, but simply a passion. Though my lenses, I seek to document my experiences, and capture scenes and events as I see them. It is a pleasure to share the beauty and diversity of the world I’ve seen.
Dr. Antonio Scontrino shoots all kinds of images, but he main focus lately tends toward the abstract and experimental, often using extreme editing process and unusual equipment. Digital has opened the creative aspects of photography to all.
